Blood
Pressure/Blood Sugar Clinics
Sponsored by DCH Home Health & Hospice, free blood pressure and
blood sugar clinics are available to the general public.
Screenings are on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am at
both the Dillsboro Village Apartments and the Rising Sun Senior
Center; on the second Tuesday at 10:00 am at Lutheran Manor,
Lawrenceburg, and at 11:00 am at the Moores Hill Senior Center (SNAC);
on the third Tuesday at 8:00 am at Tyson School Apartments,
Versailles, and at 10:15 am at North Dearborn Village (SNAC);
and on the fourth Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Switzerland County
Senior Center (SNAC), Vevay.

Breast-feeding Class
A course designed to teach expectant parents the importance of breastfeeding and proper breastfeeding techniques. The class is held
on Tuesday of the following months from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and taught by Certified Lactation Counselors.

Cardiac Rehabilitation (Phase II) Classes
A series of classes offering coordinated instruction and exercise
for patients who are recovering from a heart attack, bypass surgery
or other related cardiac incident or procedure. Patients with
a cardiac diagnosis, such as stable angina, are also appropriate for
the class. Participation requires a physician's order.

Childbirth Education
A basic course of the physiological, physical and emotional changes in a woman's body during pregnancy. This course will also provide information on exercise and nutrition as well as preparing for childbirth. Pre-registration is required.

Diabetes Education Class
Living with Diabetes is presented on Tuesday and Thursday
each week (except for the fourth week of the month) from noon
until 4:00 p.m. Classes are for adults who have been
recently diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes or who were
previously diagnosed but never attended a diabetes education
class. Topics include methods of control, monitoring glucose
levels, healthy eating and numerous other subjects applicable to
managing diabetes.
Living with Diabetes will also be
presented on a quarterly basis on two consecutive Saturdays from
8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Scheduled dates are February 20
and 27, May 15 and 22, September 11 and 18, and November 13 and
20.
Diabetes Management Review Class
is offered the fourth Thursday of each month from 12:30 to 3:00
p.m. This class offers a review of materials for adults
who have previously attended diabetes education.
A class for expectant mothers with
gestational diabetes is also available at the hospital. The
Gestational Group Class is presented every Tuesday from 8:30
to 11:00 a.m.
All of the above listed classes are
recognized by the American Diabetes Association as meeting the
national standards for diabetes self-management education. A
physician’s referral is required for each and there is a fee to
attend.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation (Phase II) Classes
A series of classes combining physical reconditioning with education
activities for patients diagnosed with chronic lung disease.
Patients with a pulmonary diagnosis such as asthma, chronic
bronchitis, emphysema, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis, and
sarcoidosis are appropriate for the class. Participation
requires a physician's order.
