DCH AUXILIARY OPEN
HOUSE TO HIGHLIGHT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
“Camaraderie, friendship and service to the
hospital and its patients are the hallmarks of volunteering at DCH,”
announced Betty Fulton, President of the Dearborn County Hospital
Auxiliary.
“Currently we have 104 active volunteers in the
Auxiliary,” explained Mrs. Fulton. “Yet with Auxiliary members
moving, retiring or taking leaves for travel or health reasons, we
are presently in need of additional volunteers.”
To better acquaint the public with the
volunteer opportunities available at DCH, the Auxiliary is hosting
an open house on Monday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the
hospital. All individuals interested in learning more about
volunteering are invited to attend.
Auxilians at DCH serve as messengers or by staffing the Information
Desk, Snack Bar and Gift Shop. Others volunteer in the Sewing Room
or in hospital departments such as Outpatient Services,
Rehabilitation Services, Home Health & Hospice, Health Information
Management and Community Relations. In addition, teens may serve as
junior volunteers beginning at age 15½. Volunteers are utilized
daily with shifts available in the morning, afternoon and early
evening.
Interested individuals who are not able to attend the open house are
invited to call Mrs. Fulton at (812) 537-8217 or (800) 676-5572,
ext. 8217. Volunteer applications are also available at the
hospital’s Information Desk during normal business hours.
